WSET Level 1 in Spirits Award
About the course
A well-structured introductory course for beginners to build up your confidence and knowledge in the spirits world. This course is delivered in 8 hours and at the end of it you will be able to understand the basic principles of spirits production, name the main categories and types of spirits, their ingredients and their key characteristics, and to know and use the common equipment and rules for their storage and service.
Answering your customer´s queries and providing useful recommendations for spirits service will be much easier!
The course will cover:
- The basic principles of spirits production
- The main types and styles of spirits
- Factors affecting the flavour of spirits
- Tutored tastings of minimum 9 spirits
- How to serve spirits
- How to describe spirits using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Spirits® (SAT)
Requirements before attending the course
No prior knowledge is required, although you must be 18 years old at the time of enrolment. All our courses are taught in English, so a good level of English is beneficial.
About the exam
In order to obtain the WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits certificate, you must sit a final exam consisting of 30 multiple choice questions to be completed in 45 minutes. To pass, students must answer 70% of the questions correctly. The exam will take place after the completion of the course.
Please, note that the exam will be sit at one of The Good Wine Habit´s venues in Sweden. Details of the dates and locations will be indicated after your enrollment in the course.
